Description:

Cypress is  a perennial tree that is found in the Mediterranean region. It has a wood and masculine smell, with evergreen foliage.  The oil is obtained from the needles and twigs of young branches by steam distillation.

Properties: 

Antiseptic, Astringent, Deodorant, Diuretic, Sedative and Vasoconstrictor

Historical Uses: 

Cypress has be used to enliven and regulate the flow of blood in the body and has been beneficial to conditions such as varicose veins, nosebleeds and heavy bleeding during menstruation. It is also calming in nature and may help calm nerves, irritations and relieve stress.

Possible Uses:

Use aromatically to calm anger and irritability, stress or asthma.

Use topically to clear oily skin and to help broken or varicose veins.

Blends well With:

Clary Sage, Lemon, Geranium, Bergamot, Lavender, Marjoram, Frankincense and Citrus oils.
